I hope the other Far Cry games aren't like this game. EDIT: Thanks for all the responses, it's great to see everyone's opinions on the game. I'm starting Far Cry 2 now but I'm definitely excited for Far Cry 3 and 4. Don't think I'll be playing 5 and Primal since I don't have disk space for those - might just skip to Far Cry 6 when that releases. It's usually depending on your taste. Primal is as same as FC3 and FC4 (except it's a stone age style), FC5 is way different than the previous ones. Personally I love Primal and considering it as a best FC game, I enjoy stone age and the difficulty it offers you (Survivor mode + Permadeath).
I've played all Far Cry's, multiple times. Primal is still the very best of this series, aside from FC3. It is a gem of a game you will never see again. Played it from front to back at least eight times. It is very, very much worth getting. Anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't recognize how special this game is.
On the other hand, if you want a tougher challenge in Far Cry 5, the Hard setting should suit your needs. You can change the game’s difficulty setting any time you want, so feel free to mess

It depends on what you're looking for. The game is not the fun sandbox farcry use to be, it's closer to 2, more survival. I would say "no", but it can be a "yes" if you don't like farcry. It's the best use of fire in the series. I think how you feel about that might help inform ones decision.

Far Cry Primal is the tale of three conflicting tribes, the spiritual Wenja, the more aggressive, primitive Udam, and the arrogant, culturally advanced Izila. Things like rocks are different I’d say Far Cry Primal is actually the most unique addition to the franchise. No guns, no vehicles, just a caveman from 10,000 BC trying to bring his tribe back from the brink and taming awesome prehistoric carnivores along the way to use as attack animals. I’d hardly call that a “slightly changed” atmosphere. Plus Ubisoft did a better job between Far Cry 5 and New Dawn connecting those two games. Rather than just a reskinned and alternative gameplay version of the last Farcry game like Primal was. Basically Primal felt like DLC rebranded as a main title and New Dawn felt like a continuation of a story. Big difference.

Taming beast is a powerful mechanic in Far Cry Primal. The kinship between man and beast is explored deeply in Far Cry Primal, and the effects that nature will have on the player are profound. Not I want more of both FC2 and Primal. I want FC to take the survival aspects of Primal's survival mode and ramp them up several notches. Imagine something like The Forest meets Far Cry 2.

Far Cry Primal. Difficulty setting: Survivor Mode. What it does: Night is darker, the wildlife is more aggressive, traveling takes more resources, the mini-map is gone, crafting happens in real-time, strong upgrades are blocked off, permadeath is optional, and more. Why it’s great: Far Cry Primal’s Survivor Mode rips out most of its modern

Far Cry Primal. This game gets too easy. ToasterMario 7 years ago #1. The enemies don't level up with you, and I don't care how much you crank up the difficulty, if you're leveled up correctly, animals are just too easy to kill. Meanwhile, chieftains are way too hard to kill with a club or animal bro, but just two spears are enough to take them
Or at least it would be if Far Cry Primal wasn’t so damn easy. Anyone expecting a challenge will have to force one out of this game, intentionally keeping yourself low level or not upgrading skills, as it’s arguably the easiest Far Cry game to date (an update after release has seen a survival mode added which does up the difficulty).
Far Cry Primal received a day one patch alongside launch today, which adds an Expert Mode. Takkar's health is halved compared to hard difficulty. The A.I.'s attack speed is increased by 1/3 I would build and upgrade La Cantina as soon as you can; the buffs from those meals are super helpful in Guerilla mode, particularly the Gadget Gyoza. Perception grenades will keep enemies tagged for longer, and using Gadget Gyoza you can carry far more of them. Boom Boom is also helpful for keeping enemies tagged. I too am playing guerlla It's not really an immersive sim, as noted here, but on the highest difficulty with no map it's a highly immersive game. In truth, it's my favourite far cry next to 2. Boring crafting, boring open world filled with map markers lacking context. So, standard Ubisoft then haha.
Kirk Hamilton Published March 1, 2016 Comments ( 128) Far Cry Primal is a game about a caveman who explores a new land. If you play on the game’s default settings, it’s also about a caveman who
I bought Far Cry 3 and 5. I want to buy another game. I am between these two. Honestly, I really liked the concept of Primal, crafting elements, the…
I have only ever played Far Cry 3 before Primal (I skipped 4). Primal seems like a reskin of 3 for the most part. It's one that I really like, but it's not very different from a game from several .
